Hong Kong island daily tour (saturday)
** PS, for those who dont live in Hong Kong, Hong Kong has 3 main parts, the NT, Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. NT and Kowloon are stuck with the land in China while Hong Kong Island is an Island off the south coast. Like Britain and Europe.
we went to the Hong Kong island and walked for 5 hours. This idea was Sandra's, not mine nor Heidi's. :P
It was very crazy. We met at the Admiraty station at 1 pm. While Sandra and i were waiting, a foreigner, well dressed in suit with purple tie, walked to me and ask straightly,
Foreigner:' do u know how to get to there?' pointing to the address
Me:"(what! so rude of him)" well," i waved to Sandra because i didnt know.
Sandra: " yes, u go to exit B and take a bus ... ... ... "
Foreigner: " is it not that exit there?"
ME:" nope, that exit is towards the mall"
Foreigner: "where can i take a taxi?"
Sandra:" yes, u can see taxi there out of exit B... ... ... "
(Foreigner walked away)
i think it's impolite of him, 1) he didnt even say 'excuese me' before asking anything. 2)if u want to take a taxi, u can take it everywhere, just get out onto the ground. 3) he didnt say "thank you" before leaving!
and then we took a tram. Although we live in Hong Kong, Sandra has a map with her and we were asking people around like an idiot. (LOL) The trams are entered on the back door and pay when getting off, just an opposite of buses. But we didnt know and Sandra asked us to take out the Octopus card while waiting the tram. (LOL)
We were on the tram for 45 mins and the people on the tram were fewer and fewer.
Until all the people were off, the driver came up and told us that it was the final stop. (LOL)
and then we started walking from the final stop. Then we had a late lunch at 2:30pm when we saw a restaurant with a better decor. and then we continue to walk walk walk wherever there are roads. we walked up to the hill and found out that it was Mid-level. We were like "this is Mid-Level??" with millions of question marks in our heads. (Mid-Level is the highest class resdential district in Hong Kong) The streets were so narrow that only one person can walk through. it was obvious that there was no proper planning in the past. There were high class buildings surrounded with old buildings up to at least 30 years, as if they would fall anytime. There was not a single person on the road, only cars. And it's well known that that area is haunted. :O (due to the world war 2, lots of killing there)
Then we came to Soho district, many fancy restaurants and trendy furniture stores but still a small area. We took the escalator down the hill and came back to the crowded "low-class" area. we also walked around the mall in one of the tallest bulidings in Hong Kong, IFC phase 1 ( phase 2 next to it is the tallest). Love the mall.
and then we took the ferry back to our territory, Kowloon. we walked around Harbour City the mall in TST and listened to the piano/singing performance for a while. The guy was out of tone. so then we left. :p
On the way walking back to the subway, Heidi and i were standing waiting Sandra to get something from her bag. Then a woman crashed into me and hit my boobs and shouted "woahhhhh". When i looked down, she was staring at me like i crashed into her. She was in boots, sweater and coat. But it was 19-22 degree. we were in situ and she crashed into me and she stared at me ??? ??? ???
it was such a funny but crazy tour. Many people say Hong Kong is tiny but big enough to be familiar with the whole city. :)
