Christmas eve

I thought i would stay home on Christmas eve, but i got a call from my cousins when i was still asleep. Then we planned our night on the phone. At 7pm, we went to play bowling in the civil servants recreation club in Causeway Bay. I was supposed to lead them but we ended up walking past Louis Vuitton megastore. It was so beautiful, a truely five-star shopping mall.

We played for 2 rounds that means 20 games. My parents arrived in the middle of the game. Surprisingly there was no one occupying any lanes except us. Everyone seemed to enjoy being in TST to spend the night. As i can enjoy the welfare, it was only $22 per person; worthwhile to travel all the way there.

After bowling, we went to eat... and then we planned our next move. We went to Hk Products Expo ( 工展會) after dinner but little cousin had to leave for home. My aunt resisted that he couldnt sleep over at Nelson's place.

We shopped until 12:30am. We tried some snacks. One of them was called ''deep-fried ice-cream". It was just a deep-fried ice cream scoop with syrup. I bought a bottle of maple syrup; it smells lovely.

5 of us planned to take a tram to Central then we could take a ferry across the Victoria Harbour. However, unfortunately, the tram had a crash with a rubbish truck! The windows were shattered, the back door was twisted out of shape. We were forced to get off the tram and walked back to the underground railway station.

When the doors of the MTR opened, there was a big pool of vomit on the floor. Bad smell floating in the air.

That's how i spent the Xmas eve in 2005. :)

Trams have been running in Hong Kong island for more than 100 years. It remains the cheapest and slowest transport mode here. If you would like to read more, visit :
